I just got back from one of MySpace's "secret" shows - Phantom Planet!
They played at Bottom of the Hill, and this is the secret sign that was hanging out front:
If you look in the corner, you can see where some social networking purist started a sharpie rant, but apparently forgot to finish the thought. Probably they heard the band starting inside and headed in to hear the music.
I am sort of embarrassed to say that I actually liked Phantom Planet. Any band whose initial notoriety came from their famous drummer and whose most recent popularity comes from the OC soundtrack is suspect in my book. But, as it turns out, not only do they play a very infectious sort of pop music, they just seem like really likable people. Very funny. Very talkative. Very obliging with audience requests (unlike some rock stars). And they looked really cute in their tight jeans. Ahem.
So basically, I really liked the show. But don't tell anyone. It is a secret.

I went to a myspace secret show in Seattle once for Lily Allen. It was awesome. Now I don't have myspace, so I can't be in on the joke.
Wow. Phantom Planet. I went to about 100 of their shows back when I was 19 and their friend. Ah, memories.
