Everyone always says that you hit a certain point in your life that makes you want to settle down and make a little home. They call it "nesting" but I'm pretty sure we reinvented the term this weekend.
In honor of Valentines Day, Derek and I headed down to Big Sur to do a little camping.
Not just any camping - we journeyed to Treebones Resort to stay in the Human Nest.
The Nest is basically a big treehouse shaped out of big sticks to look like a nest - so you get this semi-protected, open-air camping experience with the most incredible view of the ocean. We slept perched in the tree like little birds, and journeyed out during the day for kayaking, near-death encounters with submerged Elephant Seals, hiking and tasty meals.
Basically, if nesting always looks like that, count me in.
Happy Valentines Day!
